Adventure Monkey Returns

Feed Your Monkey

The road back starts here.

Adventure Monkey started on gravel roads in the Midwest — a bike, a camera, and a need for something more.

Then life changed.

Surgery. Divorce. Starting over.

I stepped away.

But the need for adventure never left.

Now I’m back — not because something is missing, but because something inside me still needs to be fed.

What has happened since leaving the Midwest back in 2016?

Sometimes the road breaks you down, takes everything, and leaves you starting over… only to show you where you were meant to begin.”

Adventure Monkey was never just a website. It was a community, a time, a way of living.

Back then, I was searching for something more. I was living to my fullest Adventure Monkey was the outlet.

Then life forced a reset.

I lost a lot. I started over. In my late-40s, I went back to school and became a Physician Assistant — one of the hardest things I’ve ever done.

Today, I have a career I love, a life I’m grateful for, and a deeper understanding of what matters.

But the need for adventure never left.

This time, I’m not chasing it because something is missing.

I’m chasing it because something inside me still needs it.

Adventure Monkey is back — with a new machine, new roads, and the same spirit.

I’ll be restoring the old stories and sharing what comes next.

Stay tuned.

Classic Adventure Monkey Posts

The original Adventure Monkey isn’t gone.

I’ve recovered much of the old writing and have all my images backed up. I’ll be rebuilding those posts here — one at a time.

It will take some time, but the classics are coming back.

If you were there before, you’ll recognize them.
If you’re new, you’re in for something special.
The Unbound Gravel (DK200), The Midsouth (Landrun), Gravel Worlds, Farmhouse Classic, Gravel Ride for Maisie’s Pride, Private Idaho, all the training rides and more.

Stay tuned.
